Hi world,
In typical Monday fashion, I am recalling the past weekend, thinking about all that is going on.
On the happy front, I received word that good friends of mine just had their baby girl. While I am concerned about momma, who had to have a C-section after 24 hours in the hospital, I am glad to hear all is well. Also, this weekend, my husbear and I got to see the King Tut exhibit. After 30 years of wanting and waiting, I finally got to see the stuff! WOOHOO!
On the sadder side, I have received some sad news from my family. To recap, I learned that my mother's only sister, my Aunt Esther, has been diagnosed with cancer. While it is treatable, there is a long road ahead of radiation and chemo. Then more recently, Esther's former partner, Barbara, died of a rare form of cancer. That happened sorta out of the blue. And then as #3, my father's cousin Paul died this weekend. Paul's partner of 25 years, Ronnie, is just devistated. (what the hell is goin' on with the gay parts of my family?!!!!) I haven't seen Paul or Ronnie since I was a kid. Given the distance between generations, we didn't connect. I had recently been thinking about them. I haven't been in touch before coming to my grand queer realization. I thought to myself how nice it would be to drop them a line. Too late now. :-( Well, partially too late. I will drop a line to Ronnie.
